Antoine de la Cadillac was a famous French explorer that was in command of fort Ponchartrain which eventually became the city Detroit and he was actually the one that thought of the idea. He also had a city named after him and a car company named after him. He was born in saint Nicholes on March 5, 1658, and died on October 16, 1720. He was an explorer, soldier, administrator and the third governor of Louisiana. He had thirteen kids.His dad was appointed as a judge in 1664. In 1675, Cadillac went on his first travel to port royal joined the military and became part of the secretary of stat for the navy! He got married to Marie Therese in 1687. He was in Paris in 1690. The Cadillac family returned to France and Cadillac was imprisoned in Bastille 1717.
